EXPRESS YOUR LOVE

Image
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Mt 22:39 NLT When it comes to loving others: (1) You need to say it. An old fisherman who’d been married for fifty years to his patient, long-suffering wife, rarely took time to express his affection. Finally in frustration one day she said to him, “How come you never tell me you love me?” Without batting an eyelid he announced, “I told you I loved you when I married you, and if I ever change my mind I’ll let you know!” That’s a cute story, but not so cute if it’s a reality. Your husband or wife may know you love them, but they still need to hear you say it. And so do your children, your friends, and the people in your circle of influence. The fact is you can never say “I love you” too much! (2) You need to show it. Everybody needs “a pat on the back.” Dr. Dolores Krieger, a professor of nursing at New York University who conducted numerous studies on the power of human touch, discovered that both the “toucher” and the “touchee” experien

HOW CAN I OVERCOME ANY BAD HABIT?

Image
Romans 12:21 We are all full of bad habits. We were born with some, others we acquired it ourselves. *Psalm 51:5; James 1:13-15*. These evil habits can be harmful to our bodies and can also keep us from the kingdom of God. *1Cor. 3:16, 17. Rev. 21:27* Evil habits enslave our bodies and minds. Addiction is slavery! Masturbation can destroy your brains and marriage.  Sexual immorality is a bad habit that can enslave you. Alcohol can enslave you.  Nicotine can enslave you.  Every bad habit can ruin your life.  SO HOW CAN I STOP? 5 WAYS TO OVERCOME ANY BAD HABIT 1. Choose NOT to yield yourself anymore* You are a free moral agent with a will power, use your will power. Romans 6:16-18. Pur 2. Purpose in your mind against it Set your mind against it. Just like Daniel, decide NOT to do it even before the test comes. Daniel 1:8 3. Avoid those who will encourage you to do it* “Evil company corrupts…” (1 Cor. 15:33). Expel bad habits and replace them with good habits.  Phil. 4:8. 1

How LONG does Hell burn?

Image
Doesn't everlasting fire mean that hell will be burning ceaselessly and eternally? There are some Bible verses that may appear to say that. Let us look at some of these verses. In Matthew 25:46, Jesus said, "These shall go away into everlasting punishment but the righteous into eternal life." Mark 9:43, "And if your hand makes you sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched." Revelation 14:11, "And the smoke of their torment ascends up forever and ever." Before we make a Bible doctrine from these verses, we need to see if there are other verses that speak of the punishment of the wicked. First let us go to Malachi 4:1,3. "For behold the day is coming burning like and oven, and all the proud, yes allude wickedly shall be as stubble. And the day that is coming shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, that shall leave them neither root nor branch.

WHO ARE YOUR TRUE FRIENDS

Image
Friends come and…go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.”Pr 18:24 TM Who are your true friends? Stop and think about that for a moment. How many of the people you consider friends, truly care about you? How many encourage you in your visions and dreams, and are there for you when you hit a wall? If we’re honest, most of us would have to concede that a significant number of so-called friends and associates aren’t there for us in a pinch. In fact, many of the people we spend time with are time-wasters who drain our energy and trivialize our dreams. In the Old Testament David and Jonathan were willing to lay down their lives for each other. And Ruth told Naomi, “Wherever you go, I will go” (Ru 1:16 NKJV). Do you have friends like that? If not, spend more time cultivating relationships with those who genuinely care about you; who don’t feel threatened by your success and want to see you succeed. You don’t need to be cold or rude to the others. Maintain their friendship,
